Every Child Matters
Canmore Child & Family Psychology hopes to provide mental health support and resources to all children and families in need. And yet, access to mental health care (and other forms of medical care) is not equally experienced by all groups in Canada.
We invite you to join us in contemplating the ongoing impacts of colonialism and marginalization on Indigenous Nations and Peoples – critically affecting their access to health, education, justice, and economic and social opportunities. The ‘truth’ is that substantive action is needed to reach 'reconciliation' - not merely acknowledgments or empty pledges.
In an effort to improve mental health support accessibility, Dr. Moline offers sliding-scale services to those from Indigenous communities. Dr. Moline is an active learner in the realm of decolonizing “academic” therapeutic practices, and focuses on centering family units and community histories, appreciating other ways of knowing.
Canmore Child & Family Psychology gratefully acknowledges that our practice operates on the traditional, unsurrendered land of the Îyârhe Nakoda (Stoney Nakoda) Nation and other Treaty 7 and Métis Region 3 Indigenous Peoples. Situated in the Treaty 7 region of Southern Alberta, Canmore resides on the ancestral land of the Îyârhe Nakoda, encompassing the Bearspaw First Nation, Chiniki First Nation, Goodstoney First Nation, as well as Tsuut’ina First Nation and the Blackfoot Confederacy – comprised of the Siksika, Piikani, and Kainai.
